Autumn Hearts

Winds blow through leaves of yellow
Hollow pumpkins stare, eyes aglow,
and empty grins.
Long gazes towards golden horizons as the world browns and burnishes around us.
Summer has come and gone,
Autumn rolls in with thunderous storms.
In the greyness of rains, and the orange of cloudless middays,
Your hand blankets mine.
Creating a warmth in a chill of the air,
Waiting for seasons to race by,
These autumn hearts by the crackling fire.

    1. Thank you Kimberly. You’re always so encouraging. It really helps, especially on days when I’m stuck, WritersBlocked. πŸ™‚ thank you for always taking the time to read my poems.

      1. You’re so welcome hon, thank you for always reading mine too. <3. Ugh I've had writers block for a good 2 weeks now – I just can't find the melody so to speak? But for someone with writer's block that was pretty amazing, as always! You were one of my first friendly faces when I got here a few months ago, and someone I related to – you've become like an old friend and familiar face. πŸ™‚ ❀ I love when I see you in the Reader. πŸ™‚ Have a great day! Sending smiles from Orlando. πŸ™‚

  1. Lovely poem…and photograph, too!
Thank you for “liking” the “Two Rules” installment of my Weaving the Magic Thread blog.

  2. I really like the use of Autumn imagery – I noticed a really nice positive feeling in it but because it’s related to Autumn could there also be negative undertones?

    1. That would depend on how you have experienced autumn.
I happen to love the season, its colours, and the atmosphere. Always been a positive time in my experiences πŸ™‚
