Predictable than chaotic, trusted than admired, inspiring than intriguing.
I’d rather be the foundation of the house, than the painting on the wall.

R. A. Douglas. A poetess, novelist, and Christian Lifestyle blogger. Writing is a form pf expression and a way of life for me. I am a Christian, though not always a perfect example of one. This blog exposes the cycles of my ever changing life, including the growth and/or changes in my walk with God, and the highs, lows, and fluctuating differences in my reactions and actions towards the typical and atypical experiences that are inevitable in day to day life. I hope you enjoy it, and thank you for reading. Bless.

Very beautiful…and cutting right to the heart of things. You have keen insight, my friend. Bless you.
This “to be” matter is the heart of life. Shakespeare described it as, “within be rich, without be fed no more.” You have understood this about 40 or more years before I did.
LOVE IT! Thanks for that beautiful quote.
Gosh – I wasn’t expecting that! That second line really touched me quite powerfully. That’s quite a weight to carry, unseen, but of course essential. I’m left wondering what I’d rather be, and what I currently am… Thanks for sharing! Blessings, Harula x
How true. I will read some more of your writing.
Your words are so simple, yet very true.
WOW! Love it, very nett

Beautiful, I understand you sister! After all beauty fades but what makes us who we truly are and what we stand for is within us and that is where hopefully we all strive to have real beauty. Great message and love the creative way you symbolized your message.
You’d have to be at peace with yourself and possess great confidence to be a foundation. It can be awfully lonely.
True enough. “If you are lonely when you’re alone, you are in bad company.” – Jean Paul Sartre
I think all writers have this unique ability to shut off the world and enjoy the lonesome walk, otherwise it would be rather difficult to think up all the ridiculous stories we create. 😉
Make Jesus the foundation and your house will never fall.
A foundation you surely be!
